Module 4 Lesson 1 - Advanced Management-Organization. Hire the right amount of employees at each job so your warehouse runs efficiently. Run the simulation until July 1, 2004
Compare your staffing levels and profits to a partners'. Turn in this information on a paper titled "Module 4 Lesson 1 Organization".
The assingment for this module makes the assumption that all employees work like experienced workers and are never lazy. Each employee performs exactly the same. Think about this for a minute. Is there a flaw in this type of thinking?
Type up a short paper refuting this assumption and back it up with first-hand experiences that you have had, Have you ever had to work on a project in school with someone and they didn't pull their own weight. Would you have "fired" if you could. Have you ever taken on a new job and found you had to learn the new job before you were as productive as other experienced employees?
When finished, begin Module 4 Lesson 2. |

It's time to work on Module 4 Lesson 2 - Advanced Management. You will determine whether it's better to hire experienced or inexperienced workers. Obviously, one group will cost you more to hire. Run the SIM until July 1, 2004. The first time you run the SIM, save it at Module 4 Lesson 2 Experienced. During this first SIM, you will hire only experienced workers. The second time you run the SIM save it as Module 4 Lesson 2 Inexperienced. How many inexperienced pickers must you hire to genreate the same level of revenue as you had when you hired 3 experienced pickers?
There are a couple of questions to answer from the assignment. Answer these questions using data to back up your answers. Please turn in this paper to me titled Module 4 Lesson 2. |

You will keep a log (using Excel) of all your employees, their performance levels at certain dates, and what action you took. You must document everything - especially before you fire an employee. Do not fire an employee after just one warning. You must give at least two warnings. |
