Questions by Employer
When you interview for a job it is best to think ahead and prepare yourself for questions (or statements) the employer might ask you to respond to. In this way you will be able to have professional sounding answers “at the tip of your tongue” and reduce the risk of looking unprepared.
Prepare a list of at least seven relevant questions the prospective employer in the classified ad might ask you . There are some examples of these questions in a document titled Job Interview Tips and Advice. Do not copy them; these are there to assist you.
Important – All questions must be open-ended (They cannot be answered by one-word answers) and relevant Now that you have come up with seven questions, write out an intelligent answer to to them.

A Recommendation for you by you. That's right, you are going to write a letter of recommendation for yourself.
Many times, recommendations are written by the people you named as references. Recommendations state positive things about your character, work skills and abilities, and other important features that would make you a good employee.

You are now going to partner up with someone. You will take on the roll of the person who does the hiring for the company/organization for whom your partner wishes to get a job from.
Make sure you read your partners classified ad. Next, get a copy of the 10 questions your partner has made and answered. Transfer these questions to the Interview Rating Sheet. You have room for 14 questions so fill in four of your own - that are relevant to the job but don't tell your partner what these questions are so they are a surprise. |

Now it's time to do the interviews. I know it will be a big fight because everyone wants to go first.
With the camera rolling, one of you take on the roll of the interviewer and one of you the interviewee. If you are the interviewer, make sure you are filling out the Interview Rating Sheet for your partner.
At the end of the interview, the class will give constructive critisism. Remember the key word here is constructive.
Switch roles, turn on the camera and repeat. |

Follow-up / Thank you Letter
It is common courtesy to thank a prospective employer for the job interview. By doing so you have one more opportunity to bring yourself to the attention of the employer. Most employers have many candidates for one job, so sending a follow-up letter is essential.
Assume you have been interviewed for the job in the classified ad. Prepare a follow-up/thank you letter. It must be typed in professional personal business style. Paragraph one usually thanks the employer for their time and says something nice about the interview. Paragraph two reminds the employer of your qualifications and restates your interest in the position. Paragraph three thanks the employer one more time and usually lists a time when you can be reached if they have any further questions. Of course, you hope to hear from them soon.
