Introduction to personal business letter format.

What does a Personal Business Letter look like?

Write a personal business letter to a company, organization, celebrity or ???. You will need to find a real address - so use a phone book or the Internet. This letter will consist of at least three paragraphs. You must find the address as well so that the letter may be sent.

The first paragraph will be what is known as the introduction paragraph, the second will be the Kiss-Up (what you want or what you want to say) and the third will be the Conclusion (thank you for your time).

When you are done with your letter do not print it out. Save it as Personal Business Letter 1. Do not print it out.

You do not need to inlude a header on this document since your name will be on the bottom of it. Have Fun.

Creating Multi-column documents.

To create a multi-column document just like the big boys and girls do in the newspapers and magazines you simply create your heading as usual and hit ENTER a couple of times to give yourself some room and then go to Format/Columns to bring up the Columns dialog box. Once there, click on "Two Columns" and then select "From this point forward" in the "Apply to:" drop down box. If you do not select this option, the entire document will be in two columns and you don't want your heading in two columns.

Complete the Multicolumn 1 worksheet (this is the boring side of the worksheet) and turn in. By the way, the two pieces of border art can be found in clip art if you type in "borders". The clip art may be too big so go ahead and resize it.

25

Perform 2 - 3-minute timings. Take the best one and record it in your "Timing" Excel sheet.

Open up the Multicolumn1 document and make the appropriate changes to create Multicolumn2. Print out and turn in.
